MobileBlocker F.A.Q.s

Q: Is the use of MobileBlocker harmful to humans or animals?

A: No. MobileBlocker emits a signal of less than 100mW, which is approximately one-tenth the power output of a standard mobile telephone. The power output level of MobileBlocker is well below that of established global safety standards for electromagnetic interference (EMI) and RF transmissions. Numerous FCC studies have been conducted on the safety of mobile telephone use, and all have shown no risk to humans or animals.

Q: Can MobileBlocker affect mobile phone transmission outside a building where it's in use?

A: With proper placement, MobileBlocker has no impact on mobile phone/pager transmission outside the range of the building where it's located. Of course, the placement of MobileBlocker and the range of the blocking signals depend entirely upon the composition and construction of the walls, as signals pass more easily through dry-wall than concrete block or brick. The greater amount of metal content in the wall, the fewer the signals that will penetrate.

Q: Does MobileBlocker interfere with emergency calls made from mobile phones?

A: As with other mobile devices, MobileBlocker should only be used in locations where a landline telephone is available for use in case of an emergency, and in public and private buildings where proper signage is posted. In most cases, when MobileBlocker is in use, a "NO SERVICE" or "OUT OF RANGE" message is displayed on the mobile telephone screen as an additional notification of patrons. To make or receive calls, merely move out of range of the MobileBlocker coverage area, and you will again be able to make and receive calls normally. From the perspective of emergency assistance dispatch, it is recommended that calls for emergency service originate from a landline telephone, as this instantly provides the complete address of the emergency, rather than a mobile phone, where human error in providing the exact location of an incident could delay arrival of proper emergency personnel.*

*Nokia, the world's largest provider of mobile telephones, specifically states in its operating manual "This phone, like any wireless phone, operates using radio signals, wireless and landline networks, and user-programmed functions. Because of this, connections in all conditions cannot be guaranteed. Therefore you should NEVER rely solely on any wireless phone for essential communications (for example, medical emergencies)."

Q: Why was MobileBlocker developed?

A: MobileBlocker is an advanced technology that enforces existing regulations against the use of mobile telephones and/or pagers within a confined area. MobileBlocker was developed when the King of Jordon, distressed with the frequent rings and beeps of mobile phones during religious services at mosques. The King needed a simple yet effective solution that would enforce the regulation of no pager or mobile phone use at every mosque.

Q: How do I install a MobileBlocker?

A: It is very simple. Installation is quick and easy. For MobileBlocker Standard, attach both antennas as shown on the photos of the MobileBlocker unit. Simply mount the base of the unit on a wall or vertical surface with both antennas pointing "UP" and if mounted on a ceiling, pointing both antennas "Down." Never connect the power to an electrical outlet without both antennas connected! Connect the power cord to the unit at the "12-15 VDC" jack and to an electrical outlet.

MobileBlocker High Power is enclosed in a portable compact carrying case and operates on both AC and DC power inputs.

Q: Is MobileBlocker a device for commercial use?

A: Yes. MobileBlocker is a device that must be powered by AC current and is designed solely to operate within the walls of a building on private or public property where its use is properly authorized by government authorities and in compliance with government rules and regulations.

Q: Does MobileBlocker interfere with public safety radio transmissions?

A: No. Public safety radio services (those consisting of fire, emergency medical, law enforcement, and public works) operate on other frequencies not covered by MobileBlocker operation.

Q: Why are MobileBlockers in great demand?

A: In recent years, the purchase and use of cellular telephones has tripled worldwide especially in Europe, U.K., Scandinavia, Asia, Africa, Central and South America and in the Middle East. The dramatic increase in the sales and use of mobile phones worldwide has greatly increased the demand for MobileBlockers.

Q: Can MobileBlocker be altered for illegal purposes?

A: No. MobileBlocker has a fixed maximum power output of 100mW, and a frequency-controlled circuitry that cannot be altered. Illegal or unethical use of any MobileBlocker system is a violation of law and is not permitted by WTI (Wireless Technology, Inc.), its subsidiaries, partners, or distributors. WTI (Wireless Technology, Inc.) reserves the right to refuse the sale of MobileBlocker or any of its components to any person (s) who are believed to be using MobileBlocker for illegal or unethical purposes. Infringement upon any laws or regulations will be referred to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.

Q: Can MobileBlocker be used as a safety precaution in places where mobile phone use is prohibited?

A: Yes. In accordance with fire code regulations, mobile phones must be switched "off" in any area that has a potentially explosive atmosphere including gas service stations where sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or fire. Since MobileBlocker uses one-tenth the power output of a mobile telephone, it is a safe means of ensuring such mobile phone regulations are strictly enforced at all times. Other areas where mobile phone use is prohibited include below deck on boats, offshore oil platforms, chemical transfer or storage facilities, vehicles using liquefied petroleum, and where the air contains chemicals or particles such as grain, dust, or metal powders, or any other area where motor vehicle operation is prohibited.

Q: Can MobileBlocker be used to protect confidential information?

A: Yes. The use of MobileBlocker during confidential meetings prohibits the release of classified information via mobile telephone. There are documented cases where mobile phones have been left on and either intentionally or unintentionally relayed classified government or company confidential secrets to others outside of a meeting.

Q: What is the legal status of my using MobileBlocker in other countries?

A: This device is legally approved for sale and use in many areas in the world including parts of Africa, Asia, Central America, Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The sale and operation of MobileBlocker is restricted only to countries that permit the operation of such devices by approved agencies for commercial enterprises, business and private residences. MobileBlocker is not currently approved for export , sale or use in a few countries including but not limited to Australia, Canada and the United States. The purchaser of a MobileBlocker assumes all liability and legal responsibility associated with the operation of this device. Many countries around the world subscribe to the rules and regulations of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), Handbook on National Spectrum Management / Radio communications Bureau, Geneva, 1995. The regulations recommended by the ITU are concerned with the limits of the radiation from equipment that generates radio-frequency (RF) energy. The internationally recognized standards writing bodies for radio communications are CISPR, the International Electromechanical Commission (IEC) Technical Committee 77 and its subcommittees 77A and 77B. The limits if the RF field strength from ISM (Industrial, Scientific or Medical industry applications) devices are determined from measurements and statistically assessed to determine propagation characteristics, and interference potential. The proposed CISPR limits of record have been evaluated and compared to independent lab tests of the MobileBlocker LP (low power) unit. As such, Mobile Blocker LP equipment qualifies as ISM Group 2, Class B equipment. The regulation for this type of equipment permits an allowed level of radio frequency radiation relative to the energy measured at a test site at a distance of 10 meters, and should not exceed 37dB (mV/m). MobileBlocker is therefore permitted for use in confined locations on private property, and should not be used in public locations (without additional authorization). The measured output of a MobileBlocker LP device measured at a distance of 10 meters is less than 5mWatts. We strongly encourage prospective customers contact their Federal, State and Local communications authorities to assess the legality and proper authorization required to operate MobileBlocker. Upon request, independent lab test results of the above testing will be provided to bona fide potential MobileBlocker purchasers.

MobileBlocker

Why is MobileBlocker the best device available on the worldwide market today?

WTI's MobileBlockers are the best systems that can "block" mobile telephone transmission and reception, CDPD wireless modems, Globalstar Mobile Satellite Phones, and select pagers that operate on the same frequencies as mobile telephones. There is nothing on the market that costs less than 34 cents per day to own, installs in minutes, works immediately when activated, and automatically restores mobile phone service when deactivated or after leaving the protected area.

Just the single ringing of a mobile phone or pager can be devastating to the ambiance of a fine restaurant, the professional tone of an important staff meeting, the excitement of a casino, the respectful dignity of a place of worship or the enjoyment at the theater for both the performers and the audience. With a rapidly growing number of mobile phone users worldwide, what was once a quiet and peaceful environment has become filled with rings, beeps and musical tunes amidst loud mobile phone conversations. There is also the dangerous risk that a mobile phone can be used as a remote detonating device to set off explosives. The life of the President of Spain was probably spared when the MobileBlocker was deployed to deactivate such a device.
