WTI's Newest Sidewinder Camera : 1080p High Definition : Launch & Shipment

WTI announces the official launch and first shipment of the newest addition to the Sidewinder camera family – the 1080p High Definition Sidewinder P/T/Z Camera. This new Sidewinder camera system was developed for a major road commission utilizing P/T/Z cameras for traffic flow monitoring, emergency response, and traffic control. The High Definition 16:9 aspect ratio enables agencies to view all four traffic approaches from one camera location. The Sidewinder system uses a built in H.264 encoder for sending high quality, high frame rate, video over the wireless network to a central software control system using industry standard ONVIF drivers.

Several of the first 85 of these new HD Sidewinder cameras to ship are being used for a major surveillance installation in a very busy urban downtown area as well as monitoring traffic flow in and around the rest of the city.

Back in August of 2010 we retired our SR line of wireless radios and ever since we have been bombarded with requests to bring them back. Thanks to such overwhelming customer need, WTI has re-tooled, re-vamped and re-designed the SR series and is now proud to introduce a brand new line of wireless analog radios - the AR4000 Series.

The AR Series provide high-quality, real-time wireless video transmission and reception as well as P/T/Z data control (AR4000-D).

THE SIDEWINDER & THE 2011 NAB TRADE SHOW

April 2011

WTI’s Sidewinder Series of cameras made quite a stir at the NAB show this year and were featured at four separate booths!

The Sidewinder 20X HD ENG camera was on display on a vehicle at Frontline Communication’s booth.  The vehicle had the state of the art electronics for mobile news coverage.  Frontline Communications manufactures Television News vans and trucks.  They also manufacture Mobile Command Vehicles for all local and federal applications.  

WTI’s Sidewinder HD 20X was on display at the Telemetrics booth.  Telemetrics is a remote camera control software company that provides the software for controlling the remote (beauty shot) cameras for many TV stations across the nation. 

Accelerated Media had 3 Sidewinder cameras on display at their booth.  They had two SD-ENG and one HD-ENG (10X) cameras displayed on three of the ENG vans positioned as mast cameras. Accelerated Media is committed to offering the state of the art ENG vans that are unique for television broadcasters. WTI’s Sidewinder Series of cameras are an integral part of their state of the art design. Their booth was highlighted on the NAB update show that was shown on every monitor strategically mounted at all entrances and in the show’s food courts. 

The Sidewinder was also a part of Tempest Fireco’s booth this year. They had one of WTI’s Sidewinder SD-ENG on display. Tempest Fireco are suppliers of masts for ENG manufacturers. 

This year’s NAB show was quite a hit for the Sidewinder. You can bet we will be back next year! See you then.

Four of our Wireless Product Lines Retire

August 30, 2010

In our continuing efforts to provide the very best products to you, our customer, WTI is officially discontinuing the following wireless product lines:

   -V-MAX Series

   -D-MAX Series

   -MACH-I

   -All Short Range Systems (SR5800, SR5800D, SR5800-8, and SR5800D-8)

We are retiring these products effective immediately. We will continue to sell off our current stock, but once our shelves are empty, we will no longer offer any of these systems.

WTI’s “Solutions Specialists” will still offer support for all of the discontinued systems that are still hard at work in the field.

Last year we introduced the revolutionary MACH-V systems with the intent to replace all of our wireless lines with one incredible product.

The Sidewinder Goes To Hollywood!

Starting on the morning of February 5, 2010, KTLA Channel 5 in Los Angeles California began using WTI’s High Definition Sidewinder cameras for their “beauty shots” included in the morning and evening news broadcasts and also during the weather reports.
